Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders
Welcome to The Perinatal Project
Happy Healthy Mommy, Happy Healthy Baby
You are not alone. Up to 20% of new mothers suffer from perinatal mood and/or anxiety disorders.
“Normal Baby Blues” will subside within 1-2 weeks. This affects 80% of new mothers. Many women cry easily or feel stressed following the birth of a baby. However, some women experience a more intense sadness that doesn’t go away. If this lasts for more than a couple of weeks, you may have postpartum depression.
Symptoms of Perinatal Depression or Postpartum Depression can occur any time during pregnancy or after delivery and last from a few weeks to a year.
Fill out our free depression screening form and our Nurse Practitioner will reach out to you Monday thru Friday within 48 hours with very helpful information.
Our Nurse Practitoner is now caring for women’s mental health as well as treating perinatal and postpartum depression and anxiety in Chantilly. Please call our office for details.
